Carbon Fiber vs. Forged Carbon — The Difference
Standard Carbon Fiber uses continuous woven fiber sheets producing the classic uniform weave pattern. If your 992 has Porsche Sport Design carbon trim — mirror caps, side skirts, interior accents — the standard CF weave will integrate seamlessly with all of it.
Forged Carbon Fiber uses chopped carbon strands compressed under high pressure, creating a random marbled pattern where no two pieces are identical. At $510 more than standard CF, it is the rarer finish — and on a 992, it will be the only TechArt-style wing in the room with that pattern.
