Portable HEPA Air Conditioner with UVC and Bi-Polar Ionization
The KwiKool KBIX1411-3 builds on the KBIO1411-3 platform by adding a needle-point bi-polar ionizer — a fourth layer of air treatment that generates positive and negative ions to cluster and precipitate fine particles, neutralize odors, and inactivate airborne pathogens not captured by the HEPA filter. All other specifications, certifications, and mechanical systems are identical to the KBIO1411-3. ETL and CETL listed. Made in the USA.
KBIX1411-3 Four-Stage Air Treatment System
Air moving through the KBIX1411-3 passes through four sequential treatment stages: (1) a pre-filter removes large particles and extends the life of the main filter; (2) the 4-inch ULPA/HEPA filter captures 99.999% of particles 0.12 microns and larger; (3) a 17W UVC lamp irradiates the evaporator coil, the airstream, and internal surfaces continuously; and (4) the needle-point bi-polar ionizer releases a balanced stream of positive and negative ions into the discharge airstream. The ions attach to residual particles, volatile organic compounds, and pathogens, causing them to cluster and fall out of suspension or be deactivated. UVC interlocks protect against exposure during access door servicing.
KBIX1411-3 Cooling and Mechanical Specifications
The hermetic rotary compressor produces 13,850 BTU/hr at 95°F and 60% relative humidity using R-410A. Operating range is 65°F to 105°F with hot gas bypass freeze protection and low ambient controls. An internal high-lift condensate pump drains to a 5-gallon reservoir with float cutoff and overflow protection — no floor drain required. The I/O Integral Condenser balances condenser airflow so the unit runs effectively in sealed rooms. Auto restart, Thermostatic Expansion Valve, and Schrader service ports are standard. The microprocessor controller provides self-diagnostics with audible alarm and LCD readout; input/output alarm contacts enable building management system integration.
