CD425-D vs. DD Series – Refrigerant HVAC vs. Desiccant

The CD425-D is a refrigerant compressor unit integrated into ductwork — it processes the building’s circulating air volume rather than spot-treating a zone. The DD series units (DD700, DD900, DD1200) are standalone desiccant machines that can be positioned anywhere with duct connections. The CD425-D’s 33°F minimum is higher than the DD series’ -4°F, so in sub-freezing environments the DD units are required. Where temperatures stay above 33°F and centralized HVAC integration is desired, the CD425-D at 1,750 CFM and 285 PPD is the more appropriate specification.
