The Hawk Merlin 2-Speed XHD WD 17″ (F71-17-01) is the 17-inch version of the Merlin XHD industrial platform: 1.5 HP DC rectified 2-speed motor, triple-planetary XHD 11:1 helical-cut gears, 80 lb weight kit, and the Wheels-Down floating head in a 260-lb chassis. The DC rectified motor delivers consistent torque at both 165 RPM (deep scrubbing and stripping) and 300 RPM (polishing and spray buffing) while drawing one-third less amperage than equivalent AC motors.
