The Ultra 250 is Therma-Kleen’s entry-level propane steam cleaner — compact at 95 lbs with a 23″ × 18″ × 32″ footprint, but producing 250 PSI at 350°F from a 130,000 BTU/hr propane burner. Unlike the electric XL series which requires 3-phase power, the Ultra 250 runs on propane with a 115VAC / 6.8A or 220VAC / 3.5A pilot ignition circuit — operable in any facility or outdoor location with propane access and a standard outlet. Water flow is adjustable from 0.5 to 1.5 GPM for precision control between delicate surface cleaning and aggressive degreasing.

The propane burner is the key differentiator from the electric XL series — no 3-phase power infrastructure required, but also no continuous-fill capability (the propane tank determines operational duration).

Ultra 250 Applications and Environments

Outdoor facilities and locations without 3-phase electrical service are the primary Ultra 250 application — construction sites, agricultural equipment cleaning, food truck sanitation, and outdoor event equipment are all viable without permanent electrical infrastructure. Chemical-sensitive facilities like KOSHER kitchens, organic food processing areas, and pharmaceutical manufacturing spaces use it where chemical sanitizer residue creates compliance issues. The EPA clean-burn rating makes it usable in semi-enclosed areas like loading docks and covered outdoor equipment bays. For indoor applications in fully enclosed spaces, confirm adequate ventilation — propane combustion generates CO2 and requires airflow.
