Description
The Atlas 7,000 lb. Open Center Portable Mid-Rise Lift (7K Kwik Bay) is a free-standing scissor lift engineered for commercial quick-service bays and wheel service applications requiring additional lifting height. With a 7,000 lb. capacity, this portable lift raises cars and light trucks to a comfortable working height without the need to position swing arms beneath factory lift points. The vehicle is driven directly onto the scissor ramps, and the operator places the heavy-duty rubber block assemblies under the appropriate lift points. This streamlined process reduces setup time and minimizes the risk of underbody damage.
The wide footprint of the Kwik Bay provides a stable lifting platform, achieving over 39 inches of lift height while remaining secure at all safety lock positions. Its open-center design allows improved access to undercar components compared to mid-rise lifts with a full center superstructure. The approach ramps lock horizontally, extending the lifting surface by an additional 10 inches on each end, increasing the effective lifting area from 57 inches to 78 inches.
Dual hydraulic power cylinders and solid safety lock bars enhance operational reliability and ease of use. As with any fully open scissor lift (without front or rear cross-support leveling bars), proper vehicle positioning is critical. The vehicle frame must be positioned at least 6 inches from the inside edge of each platform. Excess weight placed too close to the inside edges may cause the platforms to angle inward (“pigeon toe”) and result in damage. For lifting heavier vehicles with narrow frames, the Atlas scissor lift support bar kit is recommended. As with all horizontal-cylinder lift designs, maintaining 2–6 inches of clearance between the lift surface and vehicle lifting points is advised.
