5 Search Systems
Modern treasure hunting demands advanced technology, and long-range locator systems are essential for detecting hidden targets over wide distances. The Cobra GX-8000 Plus includes two long-range locator systems—one designed for single users and another for dual-user operation.
In addition, the device integrates advanced detection technologies:
- Ionic System: Analyzes atmospheric ions to detect buried treasures
- Bionic System: Uses biometric sensing to identify biological signatures in challenging environments
- Ion System: Provides an environmentally conscious method by identifying areas of increased ion concentration
The 3D Ground Scanning System completes the package by offering detailed underground imaging, allowing users to visualize subsurface structures and potential treasure locations through an Android application.
1 – Single Person Long Range Locator System
This system enables a single operator to scan expansive areas within a 2,000-meter radius and depths of up to 50 meters. It utilizes copper handles with antennas and a Ground Frequency Generator to detect different metal types. Users can fine-tune settings such as metal type, soil conditions, distance, and depth for optimal results.

Designed for solo prospectors, this system is ideal for searching large open areas when no prior information about target location is available.

It helps narrow down vast search zones into precise target areas.
Several adjustable settings are available before starting a search:
TARGET
Users can select from 12 predefined search programs to specify the desired metal type, including ferrous and non-ferrous options.

Available programs include:

SOIL
Users can select the soil type to improve detection accuracy:
- Stony
- Rocky

DISTANCE
The forward scan distance can be set between 0 and 2,000 meters, adjusted using the left and right arrow buttons on the control panel.

DEPTH
Maximum detection depth can be set between 0 and 50 meters, also adjustable via arrow buttons.

Once all parameters are selected, the device displays a Summary Page showing the chosen settings. Pressing the OK button initiates the search process.

2 – Double (Dual) Person Long Range Locator System
This mode is designed for two operators working together, enhancing search efficiency through collaboration. It uses two copper handles: one connected to the Long-Range unit via cable and linking unit, and the other operated independently by the second user.

After selecting this system from the menu, users can configure search parameters in the same way as the single-person mode. This approach increases coverage area and improves accuracy when exploring large or remote locations.
3 – Ionic / Ion System
This system leverages ionic technology to analyze atmospheric ion variations associated with buried metals and archaeological objects. By detecting ion concentration anomalies, it guides users to promising target locations with high accuracy.
The system operates in two modes:
- Ionic Mode: Detects both metal targets and cavities
- Ion Mode: Focuses exclusively on metal targets, ignoring cavity signals
The Ionic unit connects wirelessly to the main unit and uses an I.B.I sensor to capture signals. Detection results are displayed through two vertical progress bars:
- Target Bar: Color-coded from green to red
- Cavity Bar: Color-coded from green to blue

In Ion mode, only the Target progress bar is active.

4 – Bionic System
The Bionic System uses biometric sensing combined with advanced algorithms to detect specific metallic signatures, such as gold. Unlike random scanning, this system focuses on predefined target signals.
To initiate detection, users point the I.B.I sensor at a known sample of the desired metal and press the start button to capture its signal profile. A built-in laser assists with accurate alignment.
On-screen indicators guide the user:
Green Motion Circle: Indicates active scanning without detected signals

Red Indicator: Confirms detection of a signal matching the predefined target, accompanied by an audio alert

This system is particularly effective in challenging environments such as dense vegetation or underwater areas.
5 – 3D Scanning System
The Cobra GX-8000 Plus introduces a state-of-the-art 3D Ground Scanning System that provides a three-dimensional view of underground structures. This advanced system allows users to visualize anomalies, cavities, and metallic objects with exceptional clarity.
Using an I.B.I sensor, scan data is collected and transmitted to an Android device via the Geoground 3D Analyzer application. The app renders detailed 3D images using color-coded indicators to distinguish between ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and cavities.
